K-9 Kats requires that a 1 x client Registration Fee of $35 be paid up front and in full, and all paperwork be completed and signed before any pet sit services may be provided. Please email forms back to us at info@k9kats.com or attach them in a Private Message on your Time to Pet Client Portal once we have set you up.

Our Registration Fee is a 1 x administration fee that includes time spent setting up the client’s account, paperwork processing, scheduling services for the client, future maintenance of the client’s account, and client support.

All client consultations are free!

Below are the numerous ways to book a consultation with K-9 Kats.

*A K-9 Kats' team member will contact you to arrange a consultation within 48 hours. Please note that consultations are not booked until you have received confirmation from a K-9 Kats' team member.

Prior to all scheduled consultations, the Registration Fee of $30 must be paid. We also ask that clients please fill out our K-9 Kats’ Questionnaire and Service Agreement and email it back to us at info@k9kats.com or “attach” them in a Private Message on your Time to Pet Client Portal once we have set you up.

For households with over 3 small pets or 2 large dogs, there is an extra fee of $5 per pet.

K-9 Kats accepts the following forms of payment: Cash, Check, Venmo, and Credit Card through Stripe on the Time to Pet Client Portal. Please note: Pet Sits do not begin until the client provides payment for booked services & packages. For new clients, payment is taken at the time of your Consultation. Subscription Packages are automatically renewed every 4 weeks. Payment for packages must be made by the client’s first scheduled pet sit date.

Gratuity is always greatly appreciated. However, it is never expected. Should you decide to tip, it can be added at the time of payment. You can also decide to tip after services have been completed. Simply go to your Invoice tab on Time to Pet and click on “paid invoices.” There you will see an option to “add tip.” Please note that all tips go directly to our team of sitters.

Cancellation Policy is as follows: 48 Hours notice must be given when canceling scheduled sits. Failure to notify us in this time frame will result in a charge of your first scheduled sit. Any invoice prepayment balances will be held as a credit on your account to be used towards future services.

*Package Clients: Client agrees and understands that when canceling a package sit, they must notify K-9 Kats no later than 24 Hours before their sit is scheduled. Failure to do so will result in a deduction of 1 package sit. Client agrees and understands that they will not be credited for this visit.

Holiday Bookings: A 50% deposit will be taken in advance for all holiday bookings. ALL cancellations should be made at least 10 days prior to scheduled services to avoid any charges/fees. During the holiday period, last-minute cancellations (less than 10 days in advance of the holiday) will be subject to a 50% cancellation fee of the entire service total. No refunds will be given for services during the holiday period after the job has been started.

The Holiday Cancellation Policy applies to the following Service Dates:

A 50% deposit will be taken in advance for all holiday bookings.

An additional $30 fee will be charged for the following holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve, & New Year's Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Labor Day

An additional $25 fee will be charged for the following holidays: Halloween, Valentine’s Day and July 4th

We ask that 1-3 sets of house keys/FOBs be provided to K-9 Kats during the Consultation. With permission, we will use a secure key lockbox at the client’s place of residence and in a discreet location. We ask for multiple sets of keys when using a lockbox at the residence is not an option. This way each team member has their own copy during your scheduled sits. K-9 Kats will test all house keys during the consultation in order to assure they are working properly. Once your house keys are in the possession of K-9 Kats, we take all necessary precautions to avoid them ever being misplaced. Keys are tagged with the pet’s name (not client’s & no last name), are put on a wristband and worn on our wrist during sits, and are kept in a key safe when not in use. K-9 Kats is insured through Business Insurers of the Carolinas for all client keys.

If you are uncomfortable having K-9 Kats keep your house keys at the time of the consultation, you are welcome to drop them off at K-9 Kats before your booked services start. Once your services are completed, we will leave the key where you instruct us to, eg. inside your home, under a flower pot or in our off site K-9 Kats’ lockbox.

Please note that if for some reason the keys you provide us do not work and you have opted out of allowing K-9 Kats to keep your house keys while you are out of town, we will hire a locksmith to gain entry to your home. K-9 Kats will contact you beforehand to make sure a relative, friend or neighbor does not have a spare/operating set of keys before contacting a locksmith. If a locksmith is used, the client agrees to reimburse K-9 Kats Pet Sitting for all charges.

K-9 Kats is a member of National Association of Professional Pet Sitters & Pet Sitters International. We are insured & bonded through Business Insurers of the Carolinas.

We are a small team of 4 professionally trained and loving sitters; knowledgeable in animal behavior and wellness. Your pet may have a different sitter for some of their visits. That said, we make each pet companion a priority and take the time to get to know each one, their quirks, medical history and temperament. Our team is also Red Cross Pet First Aid Certified. We are also happy to arrange Meet & Greets with any of our team members that you’d like to meet. And in the event that a sitter cannot make it to a sit, we have backup sitters available at all times.

At K-9 Kats we love sharing detailed updates, cute pictures and videos, and pet reports cards with our clients via our Time to Pet communications App. We send updates after every visit so that you never have to worry about your pet companions. Updates include the name of your sitter, a time stamp, GPS route tracking for all dog walks, and information on your pet’s routine and home care.

Your client portal has two tabs under the Conversation button, Message and Private. The “Message” feed is where you will correspond with your scheduled pet sitter for the day. It is also where you will receive daily updates, pictures/videos and your pet report card.

The “Private” feed is where you will correspond with the office manager directly. Please message the office when you have scheduling & invoicing questions. You can also message the office when there has been a change to your pet or home care instructions. Additionally, should you have any other questions or concerns, please contact the office manager and not your pet sitter.

The K-9 Kats' Team is trained to administer topical & oral (pill and liquid) medicines. Additionally, we have team members that are trained in administering injections, such as B-12 & insulin, and subcutaneous fluids.

K-9 Kats has a strict policy on every-other-day visits. Pets are to be visited every day. This is to ensure the well being of your pet, and that your home is secure. A lot can happen in 24 hours. Your pet’s happiness, health and safety are something we are not only responsible for but care deeply about.

The exception to our policy is, if you prefer to have a friend or family member visit with your pet(s) on alternating days or specific dates while you are away. If someone else will be visiting with your pet(s), we require that you provide us with their contact information and also share our contact information with them. We also ask that you or the other party contact us once they have taken over the responsibility of caring for your pet(s) and home. Having a documented timeline and open communication in shared duties is crucial to maintaining your pet’s welfare and their daily routine.

In the event that they do not show up or are unable to care for your pet(s), K-9 Kats will fill in for them in their absence. Please note that there will be a charge for extra visits and there may also be additional charges for services booked last minute.

Client Emergency:

Your pet(s)’ well being and safety is our primary concern. In the event that you are unable to get home, eg. you have a travel delay or have to work late, rest assured, K-9 Kats will make it their priority to visit with your pet(s). This is one of the benefits of allowing us to keep your keys for future services. Please note that there is an additional $10 charge per sit for Same Day bookings.

If an urgent situation arises with your pet(s) or home, we can arrange an Emergency Stop-In Sit for a fee of $45.

Pet Emergency 🚑 :

At K-9 Kats we monitor your pets closely at all times. Should one of your pets show signs of illness or an injury while under our care, we will contact you immediately. Should they require Urgent Care, we will follow our emergency protocol as discussed on the Client’s signed Service Agreement clause #3.

The following actions will be taken by K-9 Kats' staff:

• The Client will be contacted, and if we cannot reach the Client, we will contact their emergency contact. Note that if we are unable to reach the Client, the pet sitter & K-9 Kats’ owner will use their discretion concerning medical and emergency medical treatment as prescribed by a veterinarian. This excludes euthanasia.

• The pet will be taken to the agreed upon emergency vet hospital or emergency facility.

Each time you refer a new client within our Service Area* that books services, you get 1 Regular Sit on the house! That’s $35 off your bill and a big THANK YOU from The K-9 Kats' Team. We appreciate you and the referral. (Not to be redeemed for cash).
